                  EUBIOTICS, NEW SUBSTITUTE OF ANTIBIOTICS IN POULTRY

Organic acids, essential oils of some plants and Probiotics are Eubiotics group, which come to be the new arsenal available to the poultry, replacing antibiotics.

                                        

The eubiotics contribute to good balancing between gut flora and growth promotion are the ideal replacement to antibiotics, which since 1996 was banned for use in farms of the European Union and other countries

                                         

In this study we focus mainly to test microbicidal power propionic acids, formic, sorbic and fumaric in pure cultures of Escherichia coli, Salmonella enteritidis and a group of  fungi isolated from poultry feed, all tests were done "in vitro" using Petri dishes with agar and Brilliant Green  and  Saboureau.


 

Cultures were performed suspending drops on the agar culture and extending across the surface of the petri dish, dried as the liquid in the agar became a 2 mm hole in the center of the dish and deposited 0.01 ml undiluted acid, then the cultures were incubated for 24 hours at 37centigrades and rom temperature with  agar saboureau for 48 hs.

The degree of inhibition was observed with the naked eye and could not be measured for statistical analysis, but if it is found that there are acids that have more power microbicide, the advantage they have over antibiotics is that they are effective against fungi and can help control mycotoxins.

Organic acids are usually inexpensive products are biodegradable, do not induce bacterial resistance and in some cases can treat some diarrhea and respiratory diseases, are a good alternative to the poultry industry
